James Wanyonyi

James runs Lumasa's regional scouting network. From a base in Nairobi, he coordinates a team of local scouts across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and DR Congo — and increasingly into rugby academies as the agency expands beyond football.

He spent his playing career at academy and semi-professional level, and brings that scout's eye and that player's empathy to every assessment.

James is the first person many of our young players meet — and the person who makes the case to the family before anyone signs anything.
